Kung Fu Master Su: Red Lotus Worm | 武神苏乞儿之红莲虫蛊 (2022)

Synopsis

On the eve of the Opium War in the late Qing Dynasty, the country is weak, opium is rampant, and the people are suffering. Wong Fei-hung, head of the local militia group, is assassinated by the secret organization Fire Lotus Sect. His life hangs in the balance, and the anti-opium movement hits a roadblock.

Su Can is ordered to join hands with Ming Xin, a woman from a beggar gang, to investigate the Fire Lotus Sect's opium trade. The criminal sect treats opium as immortal herbs, using strange techniques to enchant the people. Meanwhile, Su Can's friends and enemies—a medicine man controlled by a Taoist group leader, the ill-intentioned emperor, and Fire Lotus's female assassin Ming Ling—all come for blood. The evil emperor sets up a trap that demotes Su Chan as a beggar, throwing Su Can's life into chaos.

With the help of Ming Xin, who has fallen in love with him, Su Can trains under the eldest of the beggar gang and acquires martial arts mastery. Rising from the ashes, Su Can unites with Lord Li, the anti-opium movement's minister, in an exhilarating showdown with the Fire Lotus Sect to save his country and its people.
